Tinga Tinga is a form of painting style that developed in the 1960’s and 1970’s in the Oyster Bay area in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and later spread to East Africa. The genre is named after its founder, Edward Said Tingatinga a famous Tanzanian painter.

Why is the Tinga Tinga Bar & Cafe named after the painter Tingatinga? Because we were inspired by the vivid colors of life that his paintings represented, and aim to bring that rich sense of living to our customers.

With our varied east-west menu, plentiful cocktails, and weekly events, forget the day to day grind and come to Tinga Tinga Bar & Cafe to experience the wild life.

Tinga Tinga Bar is owned and operated by it’s three partners …
